12 Symptoms of Solar Plexus Chakra Opening

12 Symptoms of Solar Plexus Chakra Opening

Have you ever felt a sudden burst of energy bubbling up from your tummy? It could be your Solar Plexus Chakra waking up!

The human body is a complex energy system made up of seven primary chakras, running along your spine and connecting to your nerves, organs, and energetic body. The Solar Plexus Chakra is one of these, directing life force energy in and out of your body.

Today, we’ll explore the symptoms of Solar Plexus Chakra opening. Plus, we’ll show you how to  “open” this important energy center for your physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.

What Is the Solar Plexus Chakra?

The Solar Plexus Chakra is the third primary chakra located in the area around your navel, just below the rib cage. It’s also known as the “Manipura Chakra,” which means “city of jewels” or “resplendent gem” in Sanskrit.

Represented by the color yellow (which is why you might also see it referred to as the Yellow Chakra), the Solar Plexus Chakra has links to the natural element of fire. In a way, you can think of it as your inner sunshine or light.

The Manipura Chakra symbol is a ten-petalled lotus featuring a downward-pointing triangle at its center. Each petal represents a bad trait that you will shed as this major chakra opens, including:

  1. Betrayal
  2. Envy
  3. Delusion
  4. Fear
  5. Hatred
  6. Jealousy
  7. Sadness
  8. Shame
  9. Spiritual ignorance
  10. Thirst

The Solar Plexus Chakra rules your personality, ego, willpower, and self-esteem. As such, we associate it with traits like confidence, motivation, focus, and a deep sense of self.

Physically, the Solar Plexus Chakra sits in the upper abdomen, above the Sacral Chakra and below the Heart Chakra. Due to its location in the body it influences digestion and metabolism. Imbalances in this energy center may manifest as digestive issues, ulcers, or a feeling of being energetically drained.

12 Signs Your Solar Plexus Chakra Opening

Your entire body works like a well-oiled machine when your Solar Plexus Chakra is open. You’ll notice these positive changes in your physical body, emotional state, and spiritual health.

Let’s take a closer look at the transformations it can bring!

Physical Symptoms of a Solar Plexus Chakra Opening

First, here’s how your physical health will improve when your Yellow Chakra opens up:

Increased Energy

Ever jump out of bed feeling super energized, even before your daily cup of coffee? Well, you can thank your awakened Manipura Chakra for that extra spring in your step.

This is no ordinary energy. It’s the kind that stays with you throughout the day and makes you excited for new experiences.

Everyday moments that used to slip by unnoticed now bring you joy. You might catch yourself diving into activities you’ve been putting off and rediscovering a love for the little things in life.

Improved Digestion

A well-functioning Solar Plexus Chakra contributes to improved digestion. Your body processes food more efficiently, so you feel less discomfort after meals.

You get to enjoy your meals without worrying about tummy troubles.

Healthy Metabolism

The effects of an open Navel Chakra on your metabolism are pretty remarkable.

Maintaining a healthy weight becomes less of a struggle. Stubborn fat is suddenly a lot easier to shit because your body is working at its best.

And the best part? A healthy metabolism brings you more energy to do the things you love.

Emotional and Spiritual Symptoms of a Solar Plexus Chakra Opening

An open Manipura Chakra brings a wave of positive emotional and spiritual benefits. Let’s take a closer look at the uplifting signs that accompany this energy center:

Increase in Self-Confidence

Have you noticed a huge change in how you carry yourself lately? Maybe expressing your thoughts feels more natural, or taking on leadership roles seems less scary.

If you’re feeling a surge of self-assuredness, it could be your Solar Plexus Chakra in motion.

Doubting your abilities becomes a thing of the past, and you can approach challenges with courage and healthy self-esteem. Your inner voice reminds you that you’re worthy, capable, and deserving of success.

Greater Self-Love and Acceptance

As your Solar Plexus Chakra unfolds, you start feeling good about yourself and accepting who you are. The harsh self-criticism fades away, replaced by a kinder self-talk.

Loving yourself more isn’t just great for your mental health; it helps you build deeper connections and healthy relationships.

Greater Motivation

Have you discovered a newfound zest for life? Are you excited and driven to pursue goals that matter to you?

It sounds like the chakra energy from your Solar Plexus is hard at work!

With no obstacles in this area, you never run out of inspiration. You’re eager to seize opportunities, overcome procrastination, and surpass self-imposed limits.

Imagine making decisions without constantly doubting yourself. This is the gift of a balanced Solar Plexus Chakra – as it opens up, it brings clarity to your decision-making process.

You find yourself trusting your instincts. Being decisive doesn’t mean making the right choice every time. Instead, it’s about having enough faith in yourself to make decisions that align with your beliefs.

Discover Your Life’s Purpose

As your Third Chakra opens, you may experience a deep sense of connection to something greater than yourself.

You find a bigger purpose or meaning in life and begin to see how everything is interconnected.

Live in the Present

Do you often find yourself stuck between past regrets or future worries? A balanced Solar Plexus Chakra can be your ticket out of that mental tug-of-war.

You’ll feel this shift that lets you be totally in the moment. It’s having a front-row seat to the awesome show that is your own life unfolding.

Feeling Empowered

Feeling empowered is another common symptom of a Solar Plexus Chakra opening. It stems from an inner strength to make positive changes in your life.

You feel a deep sense of personal power, making you see challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to become a better version of yourself.

Positive Outlook

When your Manipura Chakra is active, its yellow light brightens your outlook on life. Challenges become learning opportunities, and setbacks are just temporary hurdles.

You’ll still have obstacles in life but you’ll be able to approach them with a positive attitude.

Increased Focus

A laser-sharp focus is a sign of a free-flowing Yellow Chakra. As this energy center flourishes, so does your ability to stay engaged and focused on the task at hand.

You’ll find that your ability to concentrate improves, leading to a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Which of your chakras need healing?

Signs of a Blocked Solar Plexus Chakra

Worried that your Solar Plexus Chakra might be blocked? Watch out for these red flags:

Physical Issues Such as Digestive Problems

Your Solar Plexus is a bundle of nerves in the pit of your stomach. It helps control organs in your digestive tract, including the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. It’s also responsible for essential adrenal functions like metabolism and stress response.

If you regularly experience digestive issues or stomach pain like bloating, indigestion or acid reflux, it might be your Solar Plexus saying something needs fixing.

Low Self-Esteem

Do you ever feel down on yourself? Do you often question your worth and abilities?

Again, the Solar Plexus Chakra is responsible for your confidence and personal identity. A sudden dip in your self-esteem can suggest energy blockages in this area.

You may develop feelings of inadequacy and a diminished sense of value which  can lead to having a victim mentality.

When the Solar Plexus is out of balance, it can make you feel totally out of control the moment something doesn’t go to plan. But true balance and harmony come from accepting that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time.

Chasing perfection and having control issues could be your body telling you that your Solar Plexus Chakra needs opening.

Lack of Identity

Do you ever ask yourself, “Who am I, and where do I fit in?”

Having a strong sense of identity means you’re connected to your core values and beliefs even if your mood changes.

We all feel lost sometimes. But if you’re suffering from an identity crisis, it could be a sign that you need to unleash your Solar Plexus Chakra energy.

Self-Doubt and Insecurity

Are you constantly second-guessing yourself? Do you have a crippling fear that you’re not good enough?

Feelings of self-doubt and a lack of confidence are tell-tale signs of an obstructed Solar Plexus Chakra. Your spiritual self might be reminding you to tap into your inner power and believe in yourself more.

Lack of Motivation

The Solar Plexus Chakra is the driving force in our energetic body propelling us forward. If you’re lacking motivation and feeling lethargic, chances are your Solar Plexus energy is blocked.

People Pleasing

Are you always putting others’ needs before yours?

People-pleasing comes from a desire for external validation and a fear of rejection. When not in harmony, the Solar Plexus Chakra may contribute to these tendencies.

When your Solar Plexus Chakra is open, you’ll find it easier to find a balance between caring for others and maintaining personal boundaries.

How to Open the Solar Plexus Chakra

Here are some ways to unlock your third energy center:

Solar Plexus Chakra Meditation

First, find a quiet spot where you can meditate undisturbed. Next, cross your legs or sit on a chair with a straight spine and both feet on the floor.

Imagine a vibrant light filling up your belly as you breathe in. Focus on the image of the lotus expanding with every breath.

With each exhale, release any feelings of anger or worthlessness. As you inhale again, fill yourself with courage and confidence.

Solar Plexus Chakra Affirmations

Saying affirmations regularly can slowly change your way of thinking and boost your energy. Here are some positive statements you can use to activate your Solar Plexus energy:

  • I am strong and confident.
  • I trust myself and my abilities.
  • I deserve success and abundance.
  • I am free to make my own choices and decisions.
  • I let go of fear and doubt.
  • I am the master of my reality.

Repeat these positive affirmations regularly, either silently or out loud. And make sure you choose affirmations that resonate with your truth. Check out our list of top Solar Plexus Chakra Affirmations.

Each chakra has a unique sound or mantra, and for the Solar Plexus, it’s ‘Ram.’ Repeat it mentally, focusing on your navel. If you prefer English, you can simply recite “I can” or “I do.”

Try this during meditation, on a break at work, or first thing in the morning before you start your day.

Breathing Exercises

If you often feel low on energy, consider the Bhastrika pranayama breathing technique. Also known as “bellows breath,” it engages your Solar Plexus and expands your lungs.

Another option is Nadi Shuddhi breath
